Detailed ability breakdowns

These signature abilities now fire in battle with their own damage and cooldowns — a bigger skill or ultimate hits harder, and the two healers restore HP instead of striking. Still on the way here on the site: the full per-ability breakdown (exact multipliers and effects), plus deeper mechanics like status effects and multi-target hits.

Lore

The Street Thug is on the Crimson Hand's southern-bureau roll under the work-name Junn Marrek, age twenty-three, recruited five years ago at the Vesper-district edge after a confrontation in which Junn declined to kill an Empire watch-officer who had cornered him in a doorway, on the grounds that 'the watch had not pulled the warrant yet, and pulling it before the warrant is the kind of thing the streets remember.' The Hand's Vesper-district recruiter saw the confrontation, took notes, and put Junn on the bureau roll within a fortnight. Junn's intake-file lists his prior work as 'enforcement, freelance, ages fifteen to eighteen,' which is the Hand's standard entry for the recruit-class the bureau-master describes informally as 'street-graduates.'

His combat-grant is not subtle and is not magical — it is the application of close-quarters discipline and brass-knuckle work to a degree the Hand finds operationally reliable. Junn does not enter doorways without checking the angle, does not engage from behind unless the engagement requires it, and does not draw on a target who has not yet committed to the engagement. The Hand records this as 'street-form restraint' and considers it more rare than the recruit-class normally produces. His contract-record over five years is sixty-three closures with two formal complaints from Hand clients about excessive caution, both complaints declined by the bureau-master with notes that read, in substance, 'the operative's caution is the bureau's policy.'

He is on warm casual terms with Vex (char_hacker) — they came up in the same Vesper-district year and have known each other since fifteen — and on respectful terms with the Demolitionist (char_demolitionist), who treats Junn's restraint-form as a different application of the same patience-discipline that Brevin himself relies on. Junn has not asked Auvane (char_bounty_hunter) for advice, on the grounds that contractor-class advice does not transfer cleanly to operative-class work. He does not work for the Solstice Empire, and the Empire's watch-office has noted in his file that he was the operative who once declined to kill a watch-officer; the file is marked 'do not pursue, the streets will not allow.'
