Signature abilities
Detailed ability breakdowns
These signature abilities now fire in battle with their own damage and cooldowns — a bigger skill or ultimate hits harder, and the two healers restore HP instead of striking. Still on the way here on the site: the full per-ability breakdown (exact multipliers and effects), plus deeper mechanics like status effects and multi-target hits.
Lore
The Cleric of Sol holds an outer-cloister ordination from the Solstice Cathedral's south chapter — distinct from the Inner-Cloister rank held by Brother Thaden (char_cathedral_monk) and one tier below it in the cathedral hierarchy. The outer cloister's training emphasizes field-deployable solar discipline rather than the inner cloister's discipline-state work; her name on the deployment-rolls is Sister Aelin Voss, daughter of a chapter-house bookbinder family in the Aurel-on-the-Hill diocese. She is twenty-nine, has been ordained six years, and has held a field commission for four of those.
Her combat-grant is the standard outer-cloister double-form: the same prayer-cycle that closes a soldier's bleeding wound can, applied to a target the cathedral has marked, kindle the target into solar flame. The marking is the doctrinal control on the burning side — outer-cloister clerics may not, under chapter-house rule, mark a target themselves. The mark is set by an Inner-Cloister monk or a field-mage of the right grade, and Sister Aelin's burning-prayer follows the mark. This mechanic is the part of her practice the chapter-house requires her to defend in writing every quarter; she has defended it nine times in three years and has been asked to revise her defense exactly once, by a chapter-house elder who later withdrew the request.
She shares the regimental chapel with Brother Thaden and with Iselm Hadric (char_holy_paladin), and the three of them are the south-chapter's standing field-presence on the imperial line. Sister Aelin's quiet operational concern — discussed only with Brother Thaden, never relayed up — is that Devren Korr (char_court_mage) has marked targets that the chapter-house's standing rules would have refused. She has not refused to follow the marks; she has been recording them. The recording is in her chapter-house journal, which is not classified as an official document because the chapter-house has not yet asked to see it.
